You’ve heard the rumour, it’s been around for decades. It might even be classed as an Urban legend by now. Guys think about sex every seven seconds. There are lot’s of variations on that particular figure, ranging from seven seconds to three minutes. The main problem with all of them, is, they are not true. The actual fact is, almost half do not even think about it even once a day. But lets not get caught up in the figures. The point is, it’s a myth and the real question has to be, what REALLY does crawl around inside a mans mind?

Men can deny it all they want, but research shows that physical attraction is a top priority for men. They can’t help but think, ’she’s pretty! The truth is, everyone is drawn to beautiful things. Whether that be a woman to a man, enjoying a beautiful view, or appreciating a work of art. Even babies have been scientifically proven to respond to attractive people more. So try to cut him a little slack. His mind is working perfectly normally on this one.
Confusions
The mind of a man can be full of misinterpretations and misdirection, often making mistakes when it comes to the silent gestures of a woman. This is especially true with younger guys. For instance, a friendly smile can be translated into an invitation, when in fact she’s just trying to be approachable and friendly. That doesn’t mean she wants you to take her to dinner. Older men are much more experienced, and tend to be more realistic with their conclusions.
His Fears
Women aren’t the only one’s who are worrying about their physical appearance. Men are feeling the pressure too, and increasing numbers are thinking about, and opting for, plastic surgery. So it isn’t just women who can be insecure with regards to their physicality’s. When it comes to tummy tucks, noses, ears, eyebrows and eyelids, facelifts and liposuction, a lot of men are considering these as an option.
The Reality
Men and women find it hard to understand how each other thinks. If either sex ever actually, completely, understands is debateable. Lets face it, do we even truly know what anyone is thinking? regardless of whether they are male or female. Somehow, it seems to remain a mystery, despite our efforts. But that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t keep trying. Sometimes, a woman can ask a man what he’s thinking, then wish she didn’t. But surely it is better to know the truth, than build a world made up of lies? Learning more, about what men and women really think about, gives true insight into our different characters. This is the only way to build better relationships.
