Ever since the advent of the very first motion picture, they have been one of the favorite spots for couples of all ages to go for dates.  Whether it was the silent movies in the theatres with live music accompaniment, the drive-ins, or even the modern cineplexes - movies will always be the top date for couples around the world.  So what kind of movies are couples going to see together these days?  Here are some titles and brief explanation why they were so popular with couples (Not necessarily in chronological order).

1. Titanic - This is a movie that takes a historic event and has a little creative liberty with it.  For some reasons couples like to see other couples on the screen.  They like
to see them overcome odds and stay together.  The plight of Jack and Rose will be forever etched in the memories of many a couple.

2. White Nights - This movie recounts the tale of a defector who is forced back to his home country.  He befriends another defector and together they make their way back
to the United States.  This movie is about love and survival pure and simple.  It’s no wonder it’s so inspiring to couples.

3. Prince of Tides - This movie shows that men too can be victims and that they too have a soft sensitive side within them.  Streisand and Nolte are excellent in this.  I believe that this film opened the doors for a lot of guys’ feelings and other aspects of their lives thereby improving their relationships.

4.  Pretty Woman - Although not one of my personal favorites, women seem to like it because whether they want to admit it or not every woman has the fantasy of being rescued and taken away.  Richard Gere BOMBED in this flick!!!

5. An Officer & A Gentleman - If you want to see a GOOD Richard Gere flick, this one is the best.  Follow the story of Zach Mayo as he becomes a Naval Ensign and wins
the love of a beautiful woman.  Gere was at his best.

These are just a few of the newer movies that are good selections for dates.  There are many others, just keep your eyes open.
